in October 2017, soon after widespread sexual misconduct allegations against film mogul Harvey Weinstein, the #MeToo hashtag went viral as countless women and men shared about their own experiences on social media. It was a disturbing wakeup call that demonstrated - almost two decades into the new millennium - the continuing prevalence of sexual assault and harassment, especially in the workplace.
