Friday Forum - CASA of Los Angeles: Advocating for Children
Event Description: Children in the dependency and juvenile justice court system face obstacles in receiving the basic care that all children need, like emotional support and a chance for a stable and loving home. They often lack appropriate education and vocational training, medical and mental health care. Angela Daughtry of CASA of Los Angeles will be sharing with us on how the organization trains committed, consistent and caring adults who provide equitable access to resources and life-affirming connections.
Join the conversation with our speaker:
Angela Daughtry is the recruitment and outreach manager at CASA of Los Angeles, and an advocate for education, diversity, equity, inclusion, and most importantly, for our youth.
She is currently serving with a board of directors for Eastern Michigan University's Higher Education Student Affairs (HESA) Alumni Association, Children's Center of Antelope Valley, and MomHouse of AV.
