Friday Forum - Carrying on the NAACP's legacy and mission
Event Description: The NAACP seeks to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights without discrimination based on race.
The Pomona Valley Branch serves five cities in San Bernardino County and five cities in Los Angeles County., and we will hear about the priorities and initiatives of the Pomona Valley office and the NAACP overall.

Jeanette Ellis Royston serves as the President of the National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Pomona Valley Branch.
Chris Lodgson is a lead organizer with CJEC, the Coalition for a Just and Equitable California, and ARCC, the American Redress Coalition of California, which are grassroots, California-based organizations working for Reparations and Reparative Justice for descendants of US Chattel Slavery living in California. CJEC is one of seven Community Organizations selected by the California Reparations Task Force to conduct community outreach and engagement for Reparations. CJEC helped write the final version, and was instrumental in the passage, of AB3121, the law that created California's first-in-the-nation Reparations Task Force.
Raphael H. Plunkett is a 28 year volunteer in literacy, political and civic endeavors. Credited for her work with CJEC and NAASD as a grassroots organizer, she has been working on behalf of the CA Reparations Task Force process, honored with the NAASD Stellar Award, a Diamond Bar Volunteer of the Year Award, and the Fred Hampton Scholarship Fund Image Award.

If you prefer to join by phone, you'll be prompted to enter the Meeting ID number and passcode. You won't be able to see the visuals or attendees, but you can view them on the meeting video recording afterward.
If you're new to Zoom and would like to use the video option, we recommend you download the app well ahead of time.
