Charlene Howard: The Power of Peacemaking in a Broken World

RSVP AT BOTTOM OF PAGE

Event Description:

We are feeling burdened and defeated as we watch our world falling apart as a result of our society yielding to violent evil.  Christ demonstrates the power of nonviolent brokenness as key to resisting satan's evil influences in our world - a model Pax Christi imitates to meet today's challenging times.

Join the conversation with our speaker:

Charlene Howard is the Executive Director of Pax Christi USA (PCUSA)  a membership organization that rejects war, preparation for war, every form of violence and domination, and personal and systemic racism grounded in the Gospel and Catholic social teaching.

In her role as Executive Director, Mrs. Howard endeavors to increase the involvement of youth and young adults in the work of the movement, as well as, increasing its visibility and viability among communities of color.

She has a master’s degree in Catechesis and Religious Education from The Catholic University of America, holds a certificate of preaching from the Aquinas Institute and is a Master Catechist in the Archdiocese of Washington.  She is a mother of 4 children and the grandmother of 5 who works with her husband, Evangelist Michael Howard, to spread God’s word through catechetical formation; writing curriculum for the University of Dayton virtual classes and catechetical publications; leading retreats; and facilitating Small Group experiences on-line.

Most importantly, Charlene Howard is a child of God working to proclaim the Good News that we are made in His image and greatly loved.

Recap: "Fire Musk!" action at Tesla dealership, 3rd Street Promenade

We would like to thank all of the great partners and friends that came to our action in front of the Tesla Dealership on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica.

It was wonderful to see all of the great people from many different organizations, auch as the ANSWER Coalition, CODE PINK, The Party for Socialism and Liberation, The Harriet Tubman Center for Social Justice, Americans for Democratic Action of So. Cal., The National Lawyers Guild - Los Angeles, and Justice for Palestine.

We would like to thank our speakers, spoken word artist Matt Sedillo, and all of the beautiful folks that brought their energy and lifted their voices in pushing back against the American Oligarchy.

Here are some pictures and sounds from the event:

Help Us Send Aid To Cuba!

Please join Interfaith Communities United for Justice and PeaceGlobal Health PartnersNot Just Tourists,, Pan-American Medical Association, Puentes de Amor, LA US Hands Off Cuba Committee (and its affiliates nationwide), Health Care for US - HC4US, and Operation Rainbow, Inc. as we raise funds to send medical supplies to Cuba and supply painkillers to those in need.

The main trauma hospital, Calixto Garcia, is completely out of painkillers like Ibuprofen, Tylenol, and aspirin. This dire shortage is a direct result of the US blockade and SSOT.

We appreciate any support you can give.
