Union Station Homeless Services: The Broader Landscape of Homelessness & the Current Environment

RSVP AT BOTTOM OF THE PAGE

Event Description:

This discussion will cover the current state of homelessness in Los Angeles County and the
changes that may occur after the LA County Board of Supervisors takes control of the budget allocated to homeless services and the uncertainty of federal funding.

Join the conversation with our speaker:

Katie Hill serves as Chief Executive Officer of Union Station Homeless Services and is a seasoned leader in L.A. County’s homelessness field. Katie’s vast experience and insight into the legislative process enables her to excel at forging partnerships, securing public funding, and driving policy reform. Additionally, as an appointed member of the LAHSA Commission, Katie aims to streamline systems, remove bureaucratic barriers, and amplify the voices of frontline service providers. Her leadership is grounded in equity, inclusion, and the belief that homelessness is solvable.

Under her direction, Union Station is positioned to strengthen alliances, scale proven interventions, and bring lasting change to Los Angeles County.

Recap: "Fire Musk!" action at Tesla dealership, 3rd Street Promenade

We would like to thank all of the great partners and friends that came to our action in front of the Tesla Dealership on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica.

It was wonderful to see all of the great people from many different organizations, auch as the ANSWER Coalition, CODE PINK, The Party for Socialism and Liberation, The Harriet Tubman Center for Social Justice, Americans for Democratic Action of So. Cal., The National Lawyers Guild - Los Angeles, and Justice for Palestine.

We would like to thank our speakers, spoken word artist Matt Sedillo, and all of the beautiful folks that brought their energy and lifted their voices in pushing back against the American Oligarchy.

Here are some pictures and sounds from the event:

Help Us Send Aid To Cuba!

Please join Interfaith Communities United for Justice and PeaceGlobal Health PartnersNot Just Tourists,, Pan-American Medical Association, Puentes de Amor, LA US Hands Off Cuba Committee (and its affiliates nationwide), Health Care for US - HC4US, and Operation Rainbow, Inc. as we raise funds to send medical supplies to Cuba and supply painkillers to those in need.

The main trauma hospital, Calixto Garcia, is completely out of painkillers like Ibuprofen, Tylenol, and aspirin. This dire shortage is a direct result of the US blockade and SSOT.

We appreciate any support you can give.
