PREP: From Incarceration to Hope

The Partnership for Re-entry Program (PREP) is a ministry of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles composed of clergy and laypeople who work with participants in all California prisons, in over 25 out-of-state facilities, and in Albania! The focus is to work with the Lifer population to empower them through various correspondence course to heal and transform their life and return to the community as a faithful citizen. 😊 The PREP panel will talk briefly about what brought them to minister at PREP, what they do at PREP and about PREP.

Al Cruz is system impacted and through his 10 years with PREP has been giving back to my community. Mr. Cruz writes support letters in various areas and helps Sister Mary Sean with many secretarial/administrative requests.



For Marsi Torres, service is a part of her life.  She lives by giving the example of small and big Grace that has been given to her, to others.  She been system-impacted.



Sr. Mavis Animah is a Sister of St. Joseph of Cluny, born in Ghana, and is grateful to minister at PREP.



Roberto Llompart is the course coordinator of Wellness + Recovery, Victims Awareness and Victims Impact Program at PREP, and he has been system-impacted.



Manny Lara is grateful for the opportunity to speak about PREP, his journey in prison and time since release. 



Sister Mary Sean Hodges is a Dominican Sister of Mission San Jose, and founded the Partnership for Re-entry Program (PREP) in 2002. In her words, "each day I see more deeply God’s profound love in embracing each of HER people."
