We Did It For The Water
(Register below for Zoom Link)
Description: In the style of a personal essay, Antoinette Scully and Jolly Hollamon will recount their experiences in Northern Minnesota at the Line 3 Pipeline. This will include their travel as well as the history around the sacred sites home to the Anishinaabe Peoples.
Antoinette Scully and Jolly Hollamon are activists living and working in the San Fernando Valley. Antoinette uses her talents as a writer and activist to speak publicly on social justice, race, and literary activism. That passion for racial justice work lead to her collaboration with Jolly and his Climate Justice work to focus on Environmental Justice campaigns in Los Angeles. Jolly has traveled to Washington DC to directly lobby with our congressional representatives for progressive Climate Justice and is now the Climate Justice Organizer for the UU Justice Ministry of California. Together, they co-founded the Valley Justice Coalition, an organization that creates justice projects centered in the San Fernando Valley through direct action and mutual aid. They also work for NoHo Home Alliance as Outreach Workers and run the Studio City Drop-In Location to provide resources for our houseless neighbors.
