ICUJP Celebrates Earth Day 2022

Description: A brief history of the environmental movement, and the current, local impact of global warming on our changing climate will precede a Q&A and group discussion. Learn how you can participate in the vital mission to heal our planet. 

Speaker:

Stephen Fiske

Rev Stephen Longfellow Fiske is a musician, author, poet, environmental activist, and Interfaith Minister. He has produced a dozen albums of his music and is the author of the "Art of Peace" (New Paradigm Books), and is finishing up his second book, "The Call to Interfaith and Wholeness, Democracy, Earth Stewardship, and the Individual."  Former Producer of the Venice Ecofest, Stephen is a long time Board Member of ICUJP and has performed and presented widely across the U.S. and overseas. Stephen began his environment activism as a backpacker/mountaineer, hiking extensively through Eastern and Western mountains, especially California's Sierra Nevadas. Founding Director of The Jerusalem Prayer Project with filmmaker Robert Corsini, Stephen looks forward to completing their first feature documentary shot in Israel/Palestine this year.  
Andrew Ellis
Andrew Ellis began his environmental science career characterizing toxic chemical waste sites for the Environmental Protection Agency and spent the balance of his career in risk management with the insurance industry.  He is currently retired. Andrew’s scientific education includes a Bachelors degree and a Master of Science degree in plant ecology. His current research interests are devoted to the study of paleontology, mass extinctions and their relation to climate change. Andrew has been a volunteer with The Climate Reality Project as a Leadership Corps Member since being trained in Chicago in 2013. He currently serves as chair of Climate Reality LA’s Legislative Committee and formerly headed up the chapter’s Climate Business Working Group. He previously served on the Climate Reality LA Chapter Leadership Team as Chapter Chair. He has been active on environmental issues related to the extraction and burning of fossil fuels and nuclear power for his entire adult life.
